So, what brought you to birth work, Aimee?

A: Love of learning about birth and the desire to help birthers feel more educated and never alone through this journey.

What do you think makes you stand apart from other doulas? What’s the philosophy and approach that drives you?

A: My personality and who I am at the core is different. We are all different honestly. My bubbly, loving, and goofball nature along with my lived experiences and love of learning will be a perfect fit for some of the birthers in our area.

And which areas/hospitals do you serve?

Williston, ND and approx. 2 hour radius, including home births, Dickinson and Minot hospitals.

Do you specialize in a specific type of pregnancy or birth?

A: I feel like my specialty is working with a single birthing parent. As a previously single parent who was also raised by a single parent, I have come to have a certain type of compassion and set of resources that will be highly favorable.

What services do you offer?

My focus is on fertility through birth support. I also will be completing my child birth education training this spring. My education will continue to grow too as I hope to be educated in as many different birth support opportunities as I can.

What kind of training do you have?

A: I completed my full spectrum doula training through Bebo Mia January 2021. I’m currently enrolled and close to completing my CBE training through them as well. I plan to enroll in a breastfeeding course, Spinning Babies course and rebozo course this year. I am also planning to enroll in the Matrona midwifery course this fall as I’m interested in furthering my education and usefulness in the home-birth community. I plan to work in both hospitals and home-birth atmospheres at this time. I’m also been in contact with some of the women who work with single and teen moms in our area (via Dakota Family Solutions) and hope to donate my service to one mom in need of labor support each year.

That’s a LOT. What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working or studying?

A: I have a husband and two boys, ages 8 years and 8 months, with whom I love to spend time. When I’m not working I like to travel, watch movies, do acrylic paintings, take cooking classes and spend time with friends and family. Also we recently enrolled and have begun classes to start our journey into adoption.

Thanks so much, Aimee! It’s so exciting to watch you grow your business and provide such incredible services to the Williston community! Where can people find you on the interwebs?
