A Weekend Retreat for Mompreneurs

Mom, let’s take 2024 by storm

I know, the panic that just clenched in your throat at the thought of a new year- especially since it’s only August. But if you’ve run this gamut of running your own business and raising babies for a few years, you know that August is basically November, which is basically January. So, here we are. And are we going to let this holiday season and the new year just happen like we always say we’re not going to let happen, but it somehow always does anyways? Or maybe that’s just me.

So let’s imagine a weekend work retreat/mom slumber party, amazing food, late nights around a campfire on the patio, crisp fall air, amazing food, cozy warm beverages.

  • Dates: October 27-29, 2023

  • Location: Rhubarb Lane, Dickinson, ND

  • Lodging: sleeping arrangements can be provided for up to 5 attendees at Rhubarb Lane (so register sooner than later if you want a bed at the most fun mom slumber party ever), with additional space available for on-grounds camping. There is also a variety of lovely hotels in Dickinson.

      • Free time for co-working, solo working, brainstorming, journaling, collaboration, naps, whatever you need it to be.

    • Sunday branding photo session

      • Pregnant and postpartum models,

      • Birth pool and other birth and consult scenarios,

      • Updated headshots,

      • Personalized online gallery of 20-30 final images to create a professional, cohesive feel across your marketing materials, both online and in print,

      • Amazing opportunity for birth doulas, postpartum doulas, birth educators, lactation counselors, prenatal massage therapists, midwives, anyone working in the pregnancy, birth, and perinatal space.

    • The Sunday branding photos won’t take all day long for every individual attendee, so that will be additional free work time.

In the past, I’ve coordinated staged births/branding session/content days to birth workers and they have always been fantastic times for networking, sharing ideas, and brainstorming.

Not only does everyone leave with great photos that show their audience what they do, but spending time with other people who know what it’s like to build a heart-led business and keep up with being a mom at the same time is just plain good for the soul.

After observing the conversations that were happening in these spaces, as well as hearing from different mompreneurs that they wished for a kid-free reprieve towards the end of the year to focus, take stock, and set intentions for the coming year, I realized that creating a retreat around a branding photo day could be just the ticket— you’re already in a business-building mindset, the ideas are coming fast and furious, you’re excited about what you’re doing, so let’s take a couple of days to set goals and plans for achieving them!
